Boost your Healthy Fat Intake with this Walnut Kiwi Salad

This salad is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids. The combination of walnuts and kiwi will give you an awesome boost of these healthy fats that are so important for maintaining proper cell wall structure, brain function, mood stabilization and hormone balance. It is also super yummy!

Walnuts have been studied for their ability to lower the risk of heart issues. The particular form of vitamin E that is found in walnuts, known as gamma-tocopherol is most likely responsible for this heart protective effect. Walnuts may also help to lower LDL cholesterol as well as total cholesterol. They are also highly anti-inflammatory.

Kiwi’s are one of the few fruits that contain appreciable levels of omega-3 fatty acids. They are also high in vitamin C which makes them awesome for your immune system.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups greens of choice
  • 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp walnuts
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a bowl, toss and enjoy!
