Iron-Rich Energy Greens Smoothie

This is the  smoothie I’ve been making lately and it tastes so good! The ingredients in this smoothie help rebuild nerve tissues in the brain and body, remove heavy metals from the system, and also provides a great source of iron, Vitamin A and Vitamin K. If you’re an active person or don’t have time to make meals, this smoothie will also provide you a source of electrolytes, protein and Vitamin B5 which helps turn carbs and fats into energy you can use through out your day.

Blended foods are amazing gifts you can give to your body. You will find you have increased energy throughout the day because your body has to work less to break the foods down and get what it needs to run at 100%.

Ingredients:
(Serves 2)

2-3 Frozen Ripened Bananas
4 Tsp Chlorella
4 Tsp Spirulina
4 Cups of Organic Spinach
2 Cups of Almond milk or Fresh Alkaline Water

If you’re only making this for yourself, use 2 tsp of Chlorella and Spirulina per serving instead :)

Blended foods are extremely good for your body, you may find you have more energy because your not working as hard to break the food down. We do liquid mornings and liquid lunches most days and it really pays off.  I haven’t worked out in over a month since we returned from Maui to write our 3 month course How to Go Raw, Not Crazy! and Seriously… i’m getting super toned just from having liquid lunches packed with greens and lots of fruit.

The Vitamix has been the most important tool in our kitchen and on the road. For the past year that we have been travelling,  the Vitamix has come everywhere with us, and it’s been a total life saver!

I love adding new greens to the smoothie list so if you have any ideas or recommendations for veggies you’d like me to add to some of the smoothie recipes post them in the comments below and on our Young and Raw Fan Page!
