30 Days is the optimal timeframe to start a healthier lifestyle. This will help towards boosting your immune system, shedding excess weight, clearing your skin and raising your energy levels.

All the Smoothie recipes are provided beforehand and it's both a lot of fun, but also quick and easy to take part and inspire others with your smoothie alchemy!

Q: How does the 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge work?
The challenge is simple; include one green smoothie into your day, every day, for 30 days. We’ll help you by providing 30 days worth of shopping lists and recipes. After signing up for the 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge by 6pm PST the night before start date (in this case, August 31st), you’ll receive your shopping list and a link to join the Facebook group. We’ll be email recipes daily, along with ingredient fun facts, tips and tricks and guidance. We will also be posting all of our recipes in the Facebook group on a daily basis as well in our September Challenge blog post.
Q: What if I don’t receive any emails or miss an email?
Add firstname.lastname@example.org to your email contacts and check your spam folder. Unfortunately, no email provider can guarantee 100% delivery rate, so some emails may get lost in transit. If this happens, don’t worry, just go to our Facebook group or blog post. All shopping lists and recipes will be posted there.
Q: Am I supposed to use the smoothies as meal replacements, or can I still eat regularly?
This is not a fast. The smoothie is an addition to your daily diet. You can use it to replace one meal a day if you wish (such as breakfast). We recommend you still eat regularly and ensure you are getting sufficient calories to meet your personal needs. Hopefully you’ll choose real, whole and organic foods as much as possible. Use the recipes on our website for fun ideas, or check out our 30 Day R.E.A.L. Food Meal Plans for “done for you”, Nutritionist & Doctor approved, high-raw eating plans.
Q: If I’m doing the Young and Raw 21 Day Raw Food Reset Cleanse or following the 30 Day R.E.A.L. Food Meal Plans, can I still do the 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge?
Yes, absolutely! Participating in one of our free challenges while you’re going through one of our more extensive paid programs is a great way to experience the community at its fullest. If you’re taking our 21 Day Raw Food Reset Cleanse, be sure to post your questions related to the cleanse in the private cleanse group as there is limited support for the 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge and full group support while taking our cleanse.
Q: Can I do the 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge while pregnant or nursing?
You should be able to do the challenge no problem, however, we always suggest that with such sensitive situations you consult with your care provider. It is best to avoid potent herbs or superfoods that you’re not sure about, and keep your calories up. Now is not the time to focus on weight loss, because you need extra nourishment to support you and your growing baby. If you’re feeling confused about how/what to eat during this time, our 30 Day R.E.A.L. Food Meal Plans are pregnancy and nursing approved by our Resident Pre/Post Natal Nutritionist and include 2 audio interviews on Pre and Post Natal Nutrition and What to Feed Your Baby & Toddler.
Q: What if I don’t like an ingredient or can’t find it where I live? Can I alter the recipes?
Feel free to make ingredient substitutions. If you can make ‘like for like’ swaps, that would be ideal. For example, swapping a leafy green such as spinach for another leafy green such as kale. Or a berry for a different kind of berry. At least, swap a green for another green, rather than a fruit. Otherwise, just make it work whatever way you can. If you want any help with substitutions, feel free to post the question in our Facebook group.
Q: Can I add my own superfoods, supplements or protein powders?
Yes - we just recommend that all are plant based and free from artificial sweeteners, wheat/gluten, whey and dairy.
Q: Can I make the smoothies ahead of time and store them?
Once fresh food is cut into, the oxidation process begins to occur. Although this happens more quickly in some foods than others (think apples browning almost immediately whereas citrus fruits stay fresher for much longer), the general rule of thumb is: the fresher the better. So ideally, consume your smoothie as soon as you’ve blended them, but if that’s not possible, store them in an airtight container in the fridge. This way you can make it the night before if that is more convenient for you. Another way to prep ahead of time is to chop up the ingredients and then store them in a freezer bag in the fridge. One freezer bag per recipe. That way, you can have as many prepped smoothies as your freezer can fit!
Q: Can I freeze bananas?
Yes - You don’t have to freeze your bananas if you don’t want to, but we find it adds a nice cold and creamy texture, while breaking down some of the starches. It’s a handy way to preserve fruits that go bad quickly. You can simply peel your banana and toss it into the blender, or if you’d like to freeze it, just peel, (chop up if you have a small blender), place in a freezer bag for future use. Just remember to peel your banana before freezing it!
Q: Is the shopping list for 1 person?
Yes. You may find the portion sizes would be enough to share two smaller smoothies, use your discretion or just double the shopping list.
